The car boot sale to end all car boot sale will be rolling back into King’s Cross this month, providing Londoners with ample chance to grab a bargain and marvel at other items before enjoying a whole host of different activities in the area.
The Classic Car Boot Sale returns to King’s Cross on September 28-29 for its autumn edition, which will allow visitors to check out over 100+ vintage traders as well as, of course, a stunning display of rare classic cars.
The Classic Car Boot Sale
Living by the mantra ‘forget everything you know about car boot sales’, this one certainly doesn’t follow the standard formula of just buying and selling old goods. Each stand has carefully crafted vintage wear to sift through on a huge scale, providing a space to get lost in among the bargains. This year also sees the return of Charity Super.Mk: Britain’s first second-hand superstore. They’ll be serving up a carefully curated selection of vintage goods and every pound spent with them goes towards supporting environmental and social causes.
Plus, the cars on show are seriously not to be missed. This year’s event shows off a celebration of 100 years of the classic British-made MG car, with a display of several motors that car enthusiasts will lap up! It marks a century since William Morris designed the car, and the display will delve into its first release in 1930 to the model Elvis Presley used in Blue Hawaii [1961] and beyond.
Excitingly, you’ll also be able to check out a replica model of George Harrison’s psychedelic Mini on display at King’s Cross, which you might recognise from The Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour film. Another highlight includes an original Cadillac Coupe DeVille that’s been chopped to lower its roofline, and there are several other cars you’ll need to check out!
Once you’re done perusing the deals and the wheels, you can sip on a craft beer or cocktail before getting some street food from one of the market stalls. Then, you’ll be able to attend a clothing repair workshop and get ready for a boogie at the non-stop DJ sets – including one from Katie Puckrik. There will also be a newly added family fun zone complete with a mini Ferris wheel and a classic car merry-go-round, so it really is set to be an event that the entire family will love.
The Classic Car Boot Sale takes place at multiple locations around King’s Cross (Coals Drop Yard, Granary Square, Lewis Cubitt Square) on September 28-29 between 10am and 6pm on each day for £6. Find out more and grab your tickets here.
