More flea market than traditional car boot sale, you’ll find plenty of interesting finds here, from quirky vintage clothing to Cath Kidson crockery and everything in between.
There’s also a café if you need a break from all of that rifling through – well, stuff – and if you want to continue your shopping, St Mary’s Car Boot is just around the corner. Entry to St Augustine’s is £5 for shoppers if you arrive before 10:30am; it’s just a quid post then.

2. Classic Car Boot Sale
This is the place to come if you love both vintage clothing and vintage cars. Providing a unique twist on the traditional car boot, this one adds in your favourite tunes from the 1920s through to the 1980s, yummy street food stalls and cocktail bars – a perfect accompaniment to your shopping experience we say.
All of the stalls at the Classic Car Boot Sale are held within vintage vehicles, and you’ll find everything here from jewellery to homeware items and classic vinyl records. It rolls into town about three times a year – it’s once again in Coal Drops Yard this October.

Taking place every Saturday and Sunday at a schoolyard in Stoke Newington, this lively spot is all about the retro clothing, and it attracts all manner of people from hipsters to stylists and everyone in between. Run by the same people that organise St Augustine’s, the Princess May Car Boot Sale is a tightly-run ship that has proven to be very popular over the years.
From glittering flapper dresses to antique leather trunks, you’ll never know what riches you may find here, which is why we had to include it on this list of the best car boot sales in London. 4. Peckham Car Boot
As the fictional home of Del Boy, Peckham was almost guaranteed to have a car boot sale, and the Peckham Car Boot is one of South London’s best. Located at the bottom end of Bellenden Road, it takes place in an astroturf playground, so operates wind, rain or shine.
You’ll find all manner of knick-knacks here, from military jackets to vintage wedding hats and everything in between, so you won’t find it hard to while away a few hours perusing the goods on offer. Dogs (and ferrets!) are more than welcome going by their Instagram, and entry is just a quid – yep, you read that right – for buyers and a tenner for sellers.

5. Crystal Palace Car Boot
Another South East London stalwart, this spot – affectionately nicknamed the ‘Crystal Palace Boot’ – offers up an eclectic array of old household goods for you to rummage your way through on a Wednesday morning. There are no guarantees of what you’ll find exactly, but expect to stumble across antique furniture, vintage jewellery, paintings, used tools, classic books and much more besides.
The car boot sale itself is situated just a stone’s throw from Crystal Palace Park and around the corner from some great pubs and restaurants, so why not make a day of it?

6. Capital Car Boot Sale Pimlico
Just two minutes’ walk from Pimlico Station and everyone’s favourite tube line, the Capital Car Boot Sale is a strong entry on this list of the best car boot sales in London. Firstly, it’s got both indoor and outdoor sections, so if the heavens open (this is the UK after all), you won’t be a complete drowned rat.
Secondly, it’s one of the capital’s largest car boot sales and offers up all manner of goods. Depending on the day, you can expect to find everything here from books and clothing to jewellery and even bikes! So if you’re looking for a new set of wheels, this could very well be the place to come…

7. Battersea Boot
If you love bagging yourself a bargain but really aren’t an early bird – we sympathise with you there – then you’re in luck, as the Battersea Boot doesn’t swing open its doors until after lunchtime.
It’s another big’un, and is one of the longest-running London car boot sales having first run way back in 1999. You’ll find all the usual bric-a-brac here along with designer goods, collectables and even high-end antiques! You’re also just a quick walk from Battersea Park and the River Thames – the perfect spot to go for a quick walk or a run before you visit.

Car boot sales in West London
8. Chiswick Car Boot Sale
Located in leafy Chiswick, this car boot is run once a month to help raise money for the Chiswick School Parent Teachers Association, a registered charity working to support the children of Chiswick School and help build closer links between families and the school.
Entry to the Chiswick Car Boot Sale is just £1 for buyers and £15 for sellers, and you can expect to find a whole assortment of both used and new goods here. All proceeds go to the school, so because it’s for charity why not shop to your heart’s content?!

9. Denham Giant Car Boot Sale
Ok, so this one’s not technically in London – though naysayers would say that it actually is because it lies within the M25 – but it deserves its place in this list of the best car boot sales in London due to its size. It’s absolutely vast and hosts thousands of sellers each time it runs due to the fact that no bookings are required.
Buyers and sellers alike can just rock up at the Denham Giant Car Boot Sale, and you can expect to find anything and everything under the sun to be sold here. Don’t expect to be able to cover it all in one go, but you can try your best!

10. Shepperton Car Boot
The final entry on this list of the best car boot sales in London is the Shepperton Car Boot, set on the edge of Surrey’s Queen Mary Reservoir and near the film studios. Again, even though we’re cheating here and this isn’t technically London, we figured that it was a worthy addition to this list and worth the train ride out.
Once you’ve arrived, you’ll find warm and friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere and bags of space, meaning you’ll have plenty of opportunity to have a gander at each stall without fighting off the crowds. Entry is just a quid from 8:30am onwards, and if you’re selling, the cost will be £12 per car.
