Let’s give Captain Sir Tom the huge applause he deserves.
Yesterday the world received such sad news – the amazing Captain Sir Tom Moore passed away aged 100. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by family, after having been hospitalised with pneumonia and then testing positive for Covid-19. Now the country mourns a man who inspired us to stay strong through difficult times during the first wave of the pandemic, and tonight we will #clapfortom to celebrate his life. [Photo: Just Giving]
Since his passing, paid tribute to a man who raised a staggering £33 million for NHS charities, walking an astounding 100 laps around his garden. Subsequently, he created a fund to raise money for important causes – a legacy that will live on, and for which he will be remembered. His super-human efforts did not go unnoticed during his lifetime and he received the Pride of Britain award for his charity work. Last night flags across the United Kingdom flew at half-mast for this incredible man. Londoners looked on at the London Eye was illuminated in red white and blue to honour a figure who gave so much to the country, and to the world.
Tonight at 6pm we’ll put our hands together to show our appreciation for Captain Sir Tom Moore, all that he stood for and all those health workers who he recognised with his fundraising.#ClapForTom #ClapForCaptainTom https://t.co/J1gCqqYItc

Now we can come together in spirit and clap for Captain Sir Tom Moore from our doorsteps at 6pm tonight (February 3), just as we have clapped for carers during the pandemic. As always, we salute Captain Sir Tom Moore, and may he rest in peace, having left a phenomenal legacy.
