The Genny Lecs is looming, and election night enthusiasts of the capital city are preparing for the most action-packed event in the political calendar. And what better way to see in the nation’s next leader than with an old-school all-nighter?
That’s right, folks – taking sleepovers and midnight feasts to the next level, Westminster’s Cinnamon Club is holding an all-night screening of the General Election. Located in the Old Westminster Library, just a stone’s throw from the Houses of Parliament; it’s the perfect spot for you to follow each ballot box being opened and every vote being counted.
The restaurant will be opening at 6pm on July 4 and will stay open all the way until 11am the next morning. Punters can watch the drama unfold on the big screen whilst feasting on a menu of modern Indian cuisine, created by executive chef, Vivek Singh.
On the menu
Diners can expect their tastebuds to be delighted with the likes of tandoori free range chicken breast with fennel and coriander, grilled king prawns in alleppey curry sauce, and jumbo morels with spiced tofu. From 10pm, as the vote-counting begins, late-night feasters can tuck in to a comforting bowl of Hyderabadi chicken biryani; and Anglo-Indian kedgeree. And for those who manage to make it through until morning, breakfast will be on offer until 11am.
The Library Bar will also be open for those who wish to join for a tipple and watch as the country’s chosen party is elected in a venue often visited by London’s most well-known MP’s. How fitting?
It turns out you’re never to old to pull an all-nighter, who’d have thought?
