Cinnamon Bazaar have roped in some serious talent for their new afternoon tea.
We’re all for endlessly inventive riffs on the classic afternoon tea, and Cinnamon Bazaar have just put another one on our radar. They’ve recently launched the ‘Traders High Tea’, an Indian-influenced afternoon tea that, like the restaurant itself, has been inspired by the bazaars and spice markets of India. And with former Bake-Off sweetheart Tamal Ray and head chef Vivek Singh collaborating on the menu, you can be sure of something special here.
Blending Indian street food with eastern-flavoured patisserie, the afternoon tea is packed with mouthwatering morsels. It kicks off with a neat take on finger sandwiches, with chicken or paneer katti rolls with mustard & pepper and fish finger sandwiches with tomato chutney.
Four varieties of chaat are also provided, from papadi chaat to semolina shell with tangy sweet & sour water. Meanwhile, your sweet tooth gets some welcome indulgence from the likes of “Mishti Doi”—a baked/steamed yoghurt with mango curd—and a pistachio cake with a rosewater marshmallow. Honestly, it all sounds fabulous, and that’s before you even get to the complimentary masala chai the tea also includes. I reckon you’ll be chaating about this one for days after…
The Traders High Tea costs £25, and is available from 3:30-5pm, Monday to Sunday. Find it at Cinnamon Bazaar,
