Chotto Matte’s brunch will fill you with Nikkei cuisine and bottomless cocktails.
Celebrating Harajuku culture, this brilliant immersive event is a world away from the prosecco-fuelled brunches London is used to. The restaurant itself is dressed in a burst of colour, with a huge illuminated wishing tree taking centre stage – and there’ll be a team of Harajuku girls dressed in traditional outfits there to greet you. Does anyone else have Gwen Stefani stuck in their head?
You’ll be fed three courses – or four if you include the initial ‘Kinnichiwa’ course of edamame beans or cassava and sweet potato chips. The menu includes the likes of sea bass ceviche, wild mushroom tostadas, sushi platters and a salted caramel chocolate fondant. And not forgetting the sushi doughnuts, which must be photographed before being eaten. (It’s the rules.)

Of course any brunch with any sense is paired with lashings of booze, and Chotto Matte’s offering is no different. From frozen yuzu margaritas to gin-tea-nis, you’ll be served cocktail after cocktail in kitschy teapots for two hours.
Chotto Matte’s Harajuku Bottomless Brunch takes place on Saturdays at their Soho restaurant, with sittings at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.
