Many people would tell you that a month-long festival dedicated entirely to chocolate is exactly how they envisage heaven to look like. Well, to you likeminded individuals that feel this way, Soho is the place to be all throughout January 2022.
While we may be on a January health kick, there’s always room for treats along the way, and that’s where Italian Geletaria Gelupo comes into play. Their annual festival of chocolate, Sagra, is back for those wishing to indulge.
Sagra is a festival in Italy that is dedicated to displaying a specifc region’s food or drink speciality. Where one region could show off its fine array of cheese or wines, at Gelupo it’s all about the “cioccolato”.
Visitors will have a chance to taste the decadent gelatos, including a series of one-off flavours especially for the Sagra. Driven by founder Jacob Kenedy’s love for chocolate, Gelupo invite guests to get their hands on a vegan bitter chocolate sorbet made with the finest mono-origin chocolate from Morogoro province in Tanzania. But if that doesn’t take your fancy, there’s a sweet white chocolate, with essences of cardamom, thyme or lavender (depending on the day of the week) with your name on it. Plus, who wouldn’t be intrigued by the further options of a rich Sachertorte; a drool-worthy black forest; or a nutty bacio.
Not ending at gelatos, however, Gelupo will also offer up rich hot chocolates to warm you up from the chilly January conditions. Choose from a variety of flavours, including cardamom-spiced, chilli-spiked, or Gianduja-enriched version.
As well as chocolate treats available to buy in store, Gelupo also offer home delivery, so the festival of chocolate can be enjoyed whenever you so please. Find details here.
