You know what’s great? Food. Duh. You know what’s even better? Food festivals – where you can try loads of incredible food in one place. And you know what tops even that? A 3-day-long food festival, dedicated to one of the most popular foods in the world. Well, that’s exactly what’s happening this month as London Wing Fest returns for another blow-out event.
From July 24-26, Wing Fest will descend upon the London Stadium with a finger-licking selection of some of the UK’s best wing traders. Thousands of hungry chicken fans will fill the stadium, munching their way through 500,000 chicken wings. Yeah, they’re going BIG – and you won’t want to miss it.
London Wing Fest
To feed the hungry wing-fans, Wing Fest has pulled in the help of 50 of the UK’s top wing vendors. Among them are returning faves such as Poor Boys and Mexican Seoul. They’ll also have brand new offerings from the likes of Mollis, FOWL, Peck Peck, Gurt Wings, and El Pollote.
But it’s not just wings on offer at Wing Fest – despite the name. They know you’re expecting more from your wing-demolishing experience than that. The event will also feature live music, eating competitions, and fiery challenges for brave attendees. These range from the Wing Eating Competition to the Lava Wing Challenge, where you can try the hottest sauce in Wing Fest history – topping out at over 15 million Scoville units.
And all the while, a competition is unfolding as the festival plays out. Across the 3-day festival, it will be up to a team of industry experts, and votes from the public, to decide who among the festival’s traders makes the very best wings in the whole of the UK.
There are multiple wing titles up for grabs: Best Buffalo Wing, Best Wild Wing and Best BBQ Wing. And you can try them out before they’re crowned – and the line inevitably gets unbearable.
