Time to brighten up your living room for the lockdown…
Unfortunately, the annual Chelsea Flower Show will not go ahead this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s the first time this has ever happened in the event’s history. However, the beautiful plants will definitely not be going to waste. [Featured Image: RHS, Instagram]
The Royal Horticultural Society has created an A-Z directory of all the displays due to be in the show. This will be used as a directory for customers to purchase the fine work of this year’s florists. The A-Z is designed to persuade people to shop online from these vendors, rather than just head to the nearest supermarket.
There will be no better chance to make the spot you’re locked up in look as nice as it can. Award-winning flowers don’t turn up on your doorstep just every day, but you now have the means to make it happen.
If you don’t decide to buy any flowers, there’s still a whole world to explore on the RHS website. You’ll see swathes of gorgeous horticultural photography, complete with links to florists media to lose yourself in. Check out anything from the Federation Of British Bonsai Societies to South African Kelnan Plants to some Eagle Sweet Peas.
The RHS has also spoken of the possibility of a virtual flower show to help fill the void.
But, in the meantime, everyone is spoilt for choice here. For those lucky enough to have a garden during lockdown, this is the perfect time to spruce it up for the spring bloom. However, these flowers would pimp out any room of the house. Everyone needs a good room for their work from home setups, after all. Check them out and grab a bunch for your windowsills.
