What do you get when you combine one of London’s most aesthetic and fancy areas with the Christmassy spirit? Well, you get one of the most showstopping Christmas light displays in the city. Every year, this picturesque part of London festoons itself with festive spirit, shining brightly through the night as Christmas arrives in town. And following a big ol’ street party, they’ve brought them back for 2025; the Chelsea Christmas lights are now shining down over London.
To celebrate the arrival of the festive season and the lights twinkling merrily on high, Chelsea went all out with an area-wide celebration. They had everything from a Christmas market to roaming entertainment, and live performances on stage.
But the highlight of the night came when the switch was flipped. None other than Father Christmas himself took to the stage to do the honours. He was accompanied by his special helper, a local child in need of a treat. Together, they switched on the lights, kicking off the festie season in Christmassy Chelsea.
As Christmas comes to town, a variety of Chelsea’s shops and venues are getting in on the festive spirit. As you roam around, you’ll find special holiday discounts, festive menu items, and plenty of Christmas cheer. But the highlight of it all is, obviously, the lights themselves.
As well as the Christmas lights, Chelsea will also soon be home to a magical Christmas village. Home to the only light trail in Central London, and more festive market stalls than you can shake a stick holly leaf at, it’s set to be one of the city’s most popular festive destinations this year.
