The countdown to Christmas is on and to get folks just that bit more in the holiday spirit, Camden Market is getting a weekly festive takeover every Thursday and Saturday in December.
That’s right, the city’s beloved market is transforming into a winter wonderland, starting on Saturday December 2, where you’ll be able to meet Santa himself in Santa’s Grotto, have a blast dancing to all the Christmas hits, be surrounded by festive entertainers, and indulge in some Christmas specials from some of the best vendors London has to offer.
Christmas simply wouldn’t be Christmas without a glimpse of the big man himself, and lucky for us Londoners or anyone in town for a visit, Santa and his elves have set up shop in Camden. Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, you’ll be able to meet Santa along with his elves in his grotto every Saturday on Hawley Wharf and have some festive family fun with activities such as face painting and balloon modelling to keep the little ones occupied.
Every Thursday from 5pm to 8pm sees the Camden Market’s North Yard transformed into an Après Ski retreat where DJs and roaming musicians will be on hand to bring the cheer all the way into the evening, whilst Saturdays feature festive bangers, secret pop-up performances and even a roaming polar bear performance every hour.
Traders will be open throughout offering holiday-themed knick-knacks and festive specials to fuel your jolly merriment. Be on the lookout for Humble Crumble’s Christmas special with cranberry and orange, and The Lucky Club’s festive fondue platter which you can enjoy as you take in the rooftop views at the newly transformed Alpine-themed Après Ski Bar.
A visit to Santa’s Grotto costs £5, you can find tickets here. The Festive North Yard Lates are free to attend.
