Camden Town is undeniably one of the best places for a pub crawl and some unmatched live music. From legendary locals to must-visit music venues, the area has always been rockin’ when it comes to finding a good time here in London. Luckily for us, there’s another exciting venue on its way to the beloved neighbourhood, perfect for the upcoming summer months.
Camden Courtyard is an all-new entertainment oasis in the heart of the area that’s opening this July, from the owners of the historic Electric Ballroom. The venue will be nestled away on newly repurposed land beside the landmark music venue. It will feature its very own music programme, adding one more fabulous live music space to Camden’s never-ending list of pubs, bars, and concert halls.
However, Camden Courtyard will be one of the most unique venues in the neighbourhood due to the open-air element, as well as other unique quirks that will set it apart from the rest.
Firstly, the space is connected to the history of the Electric Ballroom, being directly beside the beloved music venue and previously used as rehearsal space by cult legends like The Clash and Frank Zappa. The Electric Ballroom even fought off a compulsory purchase order from the London Underground, based on Camden’s cultural contribution to London’s unbeatable music scene.
They’ll have mouthwatering pizza and dumplings when it comes to food, proudly served up by street food pioneers Pizza & Dumplings. There will also be frozen slushy cocktails for slurping in the sun, as well as a full bar to get the good times rolling.
Kate Fuller, owner of Camden Courtyard and the Electric Ballroom said: “For the best part of a century, Electric Ballroom has been a venue which showcases the most exciting of musical movements and Camden Courtyard is the next step in our story.”
“The venue will offer something new for Camden, an area that has surprisingly few open-air locations for drinking, dining and dancing.”
Now primed and ready for an epic summer, the 300-capacity venue has been kitted out with a high-spec Martin Audio sound system that’s prepared for the unpredictability of the British weather. So, not even rainy days can dampen the vibes at this brand-spanking-new addition to Camden’s bars, pubs, and famed music venues.
Speaking of the music, you can expect a carefully curated line-up of acts, DJs, bands and brands. From deep-house to top-notch techno, themed brunches, and beyond, visit their website to stay up to date with their upcoming gigs and events.
Camden Courtyard will open on 4th July, located at 23 Kentish Town Road, Camden Town, NW1 8NH.
