This limited run of goodies features London’s largest chocolate cake, perfect for gorging yourself silly with some friends, or perhaps solo if you’re up for the challenge!
Running until October 20, this exclusive collaboration brings the cult bakery from Leeds to the heart of London via one of its most iconic department stores.
Snag a slice of London’s biggest chocolate cake
The star attraction of this unexpected collab is the jaw-dropping (and previously mentioned) Berta Cake–a decadent twenty-four-layer masterpiece that’s equal parts indulgence and spectacle. Weighing over 1kg per slice and priced at £17, Bertha is crafted from rich layers of dark chocolate sponge, perfectly interlaced with a velvety ganache that’s an absolute dream.
For those who do dare to share, you can even order the full cake for £160, guaranteeing a show-stopping centrepiece for any celebration. To accommodate Get Baked’s eager fans, Fortnum’s will be issuing tickets to gain early entry between 9 and 10am, so you can get your hands on Bertha before the store opens, and before stock sells out. More from Get Baked x Fortnum & Mason:
The delights don’t stop with Bertha, as there are a plethora of indulgent goodies to treat yourself to at this unmissable pop-up. Also on offer is the Knickerbocker Glory Pie, a nod to Fortum’s storied dessert and sweet treat heritage. It’s a luxurious take on the classic, featuring layers of raspberry jam and vanilla cake, all enveloped in a buttery shortcrust and topped with a gorgeous ganache.
This special dessert honours department store, who introduced the Knickerbocker Glory to the UK after WW2, and was featured on the menu of its then-new restaurant.
As for the other baked goods on offer, expect cookies, brownies, and beyond. There’s truly something for everyone, so don’t miss out, especially if you’ve got a sweet tooth. The Get Baked pop-up will be at Fortnum & Mason until Sunday, October 20.
