American beer institution, Brooklyn Brewery, is launching their latest product in the UK with the world’s first beer mural. The street art was created with pilsner-infused paint, making use of the brewery’s newest offering: Brooklyn Pilsner. We promise there’s no paint in the beer itself though! And where else would the mural be, but in Brixton – part of Brooklyn’s official twin borough of Lambeth.
NYC artist Danielle Mastrion, whose previous worked with the likes of the Notorious B.I.G family, New Balance, Nike, and Spike Lee, created the artwork. Artist volunteers were also on hand during the mural’s creation to lend their expert, and amateur, assistance. Under Mastrion’s guidance the participants got the chance to add their touch of Brooklyn-inspired art to the Brixton based mural.
Mastrion said the following regarding the creation of the beer mural:
“Having the opportunity to bring my expression of Brooklyn to the UK has been a total dream come true, and when I was asked about creating the first ever mural painted with beer, I knew this was going to be a fun project… Brooklyn Brewery’s values are intrinsically tied to the communities in which it finds inspiration. In this sense, there is huge synergy between our creative philosophies, as I bring Brooklyn with me when I’m painting, no matter where I am in the world. It’s about giving back to the communities that inspire you”.
Brooklyn Pilsner launches across the UK in September 2022. Bright, clean, and refreshing, it’s a beer that anyone is sure to enjoy. Why not head to Brixton, grab a pilsner, and check out the mural at the same time?
