London will soon be getting its fourth BOXPARK location, as the street food market moguls have just agreed a long-term property management deal for Camden High Street‘s much-loved food and retail complex, Buck Street Market. The deal was made with Places for London (TfL’s property company), who bought the shipping container market in October, 2023.
The site is set to undergo a huge refurbishment and a ‘comprehensive renovation’, subject to planning permission from Camden Council. The revamp will breathe a new lease of life into the market, which currently hosts 23 food and 23 retail units.
BOXPARK’s initial investment will revitalise and refresh the space over summer. Further investment in collaboration with Places for London will then follow in the the coming year.
Passionate about championing and supporting independent businesses, BOXPARK offers the very best of food, drink and entertainment under one roof. Their unique approach to urban regeneration puts them in the perfect position to make Buck Street Market a huge success.
BOXPARK is certainly no rookie when it comes to urban regeneration. Their Croydon site was launched back in 2016, and since opening, has attracted millions of visitors and boosted the local economy considerably.
Simon Champion, CEO of BOXPARK, comments: “It’s an exciting challenge for BOXPARK to reinvigorate an iconic destination like Buck Street Market. It’s no secret we have a love of locations beaming with culture and community, and Camden is no different. Camden Town boasts a world of food, music and the arts that is just so aligned with BOXPARK’s movement and culture. We are committed to flying the flag for independent businesses across the country, and this restoration will allow us to continue this in one of the most significant takeovers London will see this year.”
