It’s the season to eat, drink, and be scary – and London Zoo have well-and-truly got the memo. This spooky season, the capital’s much-loved zoo is hosting the ultimate Halloween event: Boo at the Zoo. From October 19 to November 3, London Zoo will be trick-or-treating its visitors to a series of spine-tingling activities, sure to get the whole family into the spooky spirit.
What to expect at Boo at the Zoo
The jam-packed itinerary will kick off at the Halloween hub in the zoo’s Wildlife Garden, where kids and families can get stuck in to some Halloween-themed activities before heading off to explore the zoo. A pick-your-own pumpkin patch awaits, where pumpkin-pickers will find some picture-perfect photo opportunities and a plethora of pumpkins, ready to be decorated at the painting workshop.
Prepare to embark on a ‘Race Against Extinction Trail’; an incredible opportunity to discover more about the different species that are facing extinction. The trail involves collecting colourful sand on-route as a reminder of how time is running out to save these endangered species, and ends with a rather chilling ‘Extinction Graveyward’.
Elsewhere in the zoo, ‘Spooky Animal Talks’ will be taking place for visitors to learn more about the animals that we tend to associate with Halloween, like bats and spiders. And whilst we’re on the subject of those eight-legged creatures; fearless folk can step into the creepy-crawly world of ‘In with the Spiders’, where they’ll be surrounded by giant webs. Eek!
With an itinerary that’s bursting at the seams with spook-tacular fun, and the chance to discover over 10,000 animals; Boo at the Zoo should certainly be added straight to the top of this year’s Halloween bucket list!
