For many Londoners, nothing can draw more excitement than a cool new addition to the Underground network. We all saw that first hand when the Elizabeth line first got up an running in May 2022. And, I can’t lie, Bond Street’s latest addition is looking so damn fine that I *might* just be a convert to “train enthusiast” now.
I mean, just look at it in its purple sign-kissed glory that looks like something out of a sci-fi blockbuster and making our lives infinitely more convenient.
Those are the escalators that act as a teleportation device to the futuristic landscape that is Bond Street station, which arrived a little later than the other Elizabeth line stops on Monday (October 24), but now provides the godsend of another central stop along the Crossrail tracks.
The new line at Bond Street brings with it some fancy new upgrades to the station, including two new ticket halls and fancy new bronze ceiling decoration scattered throughout the vicinity. The escalator at the new station on the Hanover Square entrance also happens to be the second-longest across the entire Tube network. We can’t really fault it for being narrowly smaller than the one at Angel station, though – have you ever used that tall king? You’ll grow a full beard in the time between hopping on and off, and I for one am here for it.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan was also on hand to give the station a grand opening alongside London Transport Commissioner Andy Byford and Katherine Fletcher MP.

I can’t wait for Londoners and visitors to our capital to experience this beautiful new station for themselves
