So the jury is out. London has been voted the greatest city in Europe for 2023 (but forever in our hearts). Not least for its unrivalled offering of exciting cultural activities and world-class gastronomy. And this summer, Bombay Sapphire is hosting free art installations in two of London’s most iconic bars, giving us the perfect excuse to enjoy our favourite pastimes in tandem. Visit Sketch until July 15, and Silverleaf from August 1 – September 25 to admire incredible installations whilst sipping Bombay Sapphire cocktails!
Launched at the Design Museum earlier this year, Saw This Made This is a thought provoking initiative, curated in partnership with Baz Luhrmann. It began with the intention of encouraging people to see the world as a gallery of creative inspiration. And now, visual artists Tishk Barzanji and Shaquille-Aaron Keith have partnered with Bombay Sapphire to design two bar installations to continue to share the message.
Thanks to its balanced flavour profile and versatility, Bombay Sapphire is the ideal canvas for creating innovative cocktails. And you’ll have the chance to sample a range of special creations at each bar. Inspired by the installations, the venues have both created three bespoke Bombay Sapphire serves. Purchase your drinks at the bar and enjoy the sight, sound and taste of this multi-sensory experience!
Taking Sketch’s vibrant decor as inspiration, Tishk’s installation is led by colours, textures and the emotions they represent. This concept is also brought to life within the drinks menu, each Bombay Sapphire cocktail inspired by a key colour within the installation.
Exceptional mixology aside, both Sketch and Silverleaf are renowned for their interiors, lending themselves perfectly to immersive experiences. And both installations will marry the artist’s trademark style with the unique visual identity of each bar. So whilst Tishk plays on the quirky, playful character of Sketch to design a surrealist wonderland, Shaquille-Aaron will explore the impact of design on human emotion. By tapping into Silverleaf’s naturalist elements, Shaquille-Aaron aims to evoke the feeling of intimacy one feels when meeting someone for the first time over a cocktail.
