Now that the Premier League season has wrapped up and the Champions League final is over and done with, football fans can now turn their full attention to the World Cup, which is kicking off on 11 June.
There’s no feeling quite like clutching a pint, surrounded by your fellow supporters watching a match on the big screen. With England’s first group game on 17 June, there’s not long to go to find somewhere to watch all the big games, so here are all our favourite spots to catch a game around the capital.
Boxpark
Boxpark is already a well-loved location amongst footie fans, known for regular screenings for big matches and entertaining ticket-holders before big games, especially at the Wembley branch. All four London venues are showing matches throughout the tournament and they are promising “pure unadulterated energy, world class street food and a special surprise or two.”
Vinegar Yard
Giant outdoor screens will be playing every England match at this spot in London Bridge. There’s plenty of seats, drinks flowing and a choice of food including tacos, sandos, burgers and shawarma. What more could you want? Pitchers of beer, you say? Well, luckily those are on offer too.
Get your tickets here. There will be no shortage of screens to watch every detail of the matches at Flat Iron Square, with their 19 screens and a 16ft jumbotron. There will also be DJs and live entertainment, which promise an electric match-day atmosphere. Of course, you can grab a bite to eat to fuel you up for all those (hopefully) celebrations.
Hackney Bridge
This stunning venue right on the Hackey canal side is already one of the buzziest locations in London, and it will transform its courtyard into a fan park for the World Cup. Tickets for England matches will be available to buy from 1 June and will include a drink on arrival.
Book a table here.The Alma
This boozer really cares about sports, whether it’s Wimbledon, Formula 1 or, you guessed it, the World Cup. They boast food that goes “well beyond the match day standard” and perfectly poured pints. While they say walk-ins are always welcome, if you want the best table you might want to book.
But the cherry on top of the cake is the Gareth Southgate lookalike competition the pub is holding on 11 June!
The Wigmore at The Langham
This pub is handily located in a very central location, which makes it easy to gather the squad from all corners of London to enjoy the World Cup festivities together. The Wigmore are celebrating the summer of football with three limited-edition hot dogs inspired by the hosting nations, Canada, Mexico, and the USA.
The Clapham Grand is one of the most iconic London venues, hosting everything from drag shows to Heated Rivalry raves, yes that’s a thing! With its 24ft cinema screen, 6 plasma TV’s and a balcony, it makes for a perfect location to watch all the big games. The best part is, you’ll get your first beer free for all group match games.
Get your ticket here.The Ship
This riverside pub in Wandsworth boasts 13 big screens, including a cinema-sized outdoor screen right on the riverside decking. There are options to watch indoors and outdoors, but the decking area is walk-in only and works on a first-come, first-served basis, so you’ll have to arrive in plenty of time to bag a good spot.

You can watch the game a little differently at The Cinnamon Kitchen in Battersea. All you need to do is book a table and tell the staff who you think will win the game and the score.
