Now that summer is (almost) coming to an end, we’re turning our dining attention away from bright al fresco dining. Instead, we’re seeking out dark, seductive, moody restaurants. But, as always, we’re keen to try something brand new. Fortunately, in a city like London, there are always new restaurants and venues opening up their doors every month.
So, with that in mind, where should you be looking for the newest food to eat, and the most exciting new venues to explore this September? Here are a few of our picks for the best new openings hitting the city this month:
September’s most hyped new openings
KİD (open now)
At this point, when we find out David Carter is opening a new restaurant, we’re hoping to snag a reservation as soon as bookings open. We don’t even need to know what the food will be; it’s sure to be incredible. Carter is, after all, the restaurateur behind SMOKESTAK, manteca, AGORA, and OMA.
For his newest opening, he’s partnering up with ex-Mangal II chef, Sertaç Dirik. Diners can expect a menu inspired by Turkish cooking, British produce and Dirik’s experience working in Copenhagen. Per the name, the restaurant will also feature kid, cooked overnight in the wood oven.

Seouls of Mischief (opens September)
If you’re a chicken wing fan in the slightest, or a fan of Korean, Mexican, or fusion food, you likely already know Mexican Seoul. The fusion wing masters have quickly become legendary in the city for their food and hospitality. And now they’re kicking off their next culinary chapter, with a fusion burger-led concept at the Adam & Eve pub in East London.

Bunso (opens September)
One of London’s most prolific Filipino chefs, who has made the city fall in love with the country’s food, is opening yet another venue. Chef Omar Shah is the culinary force behind the likes of Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream, Ramo Ramen, Belly, and more. And now he’s opening up a new venue that will operate as a bakery by day and a pizzeria by night, with Filipino flavours and techniques.

Torino (opens mid-September)
We love a venue that adapts itself to the needs of its patrons throughout the day. Whether it seamlessly transitions from breakfast to after-dinner drinks, or boasts multiple spaces for different ocassion. But Torino takes that to the next level (literally). When it opens, this brand-new Italian bakery, restaurant, and rooftop bar will spread itself out across 3 floors. No matter what you’re after, when it comes to la dolce vita, they’ve got you sorted.

But don’t go thinking that the above spots are the only new openings worth checking out in London this month. There are so many new places flinging open their doors, and you’re sure to find a new favourite among them.

🥢 NAKIMUSHI – a Japanese townhouse restaurant from the team behind Michelin-starred Dorian, EEL Sushi, Supermarket of Dreams and the Notting Hill Fish+Meat Shop. (opens September 7)
🍽️ Marrion’s Bar – a new neighbourhood bar and eatery from Norman’s co-founder, Elliott Kaye. (opens September 10)
