If there’s one thing London is absolutely fantastic for, it’s street food. Well, among other things, but in particular, we can’t get enough of London’s incredible street food scene. And some of the best places to find the top traders slinging their wares are at London’s many incredible markets. But it got us thinking… Where is London’s very best food market? To find out, we turned to you, our Secret London readers, to mine your expertise for the best answer.
And after tallying up the responses, there was one clear winner. London’s best food market is:
Drum roll, please…
Now, this is hardly the first time that Borough Market has been recognised for its impressive wares. It was recently named the best food market in the world by Food & Wine magazine in their annual ‘Global Tastemakers Awards’. It also played an important role in London being named the best food destination in the world by TripAdvisor earlier this year.
Nor is it the first time that our readers have picked the market for the top spot. Last year, in a similar poll on Instagram, Borough Market also took the top spot. So, that’s two years of success for the market – can they make it a threepeat in 2027? Only time will tell!
Having said that, student accommodation providers, Chapter, recently named Camden Market the best food market in the city… But, hey, it’s all subjective anyway, right?

While it was pretty much a runaway victory for the esteemed market, a few other spots in the city also got name-checked in the responses. Among them were:
