Flying is stressful at the best of times, and airport food definitely gets a mixed reputation with the choices on offer being limited, and usually set to the same few branches in each terminal.
But, this study by Bloomberg UK has named London’s Heathrow Terminal 5 as one that houses a contender for the very ‘best airport restaurants’ in the whole world. The publication took on the task of finding the best spots to eat at as you prepare to jet away around the world, with a list of eight restaurants compiled by ‘Business Power Travellers’ (I need to get myself this job title).
Le Café Cyril Lignac at Louis Vuitton has taken a spot on this list, being praised for its top-class menu of pastries to go and French cuisine that’ll have you living the high life before jumping aboard your flight. It came alongside entries on a list that featured spots around the world, including Iwashi Sushi in Mexico City, Duddel’s in Hong Kong, The Salt Lick BBQ in Austin, and more. Guess you’ll just have to fly around the world and try them all – first stop: Heathrow Terminal 2!
Speaking on the chosen spot of Le Café Cyril Lignac at Louis Vuitton, Bloomberg wrote: “Tucked inside the undulating entryway to the sparkling new Terminal 2 store, this upscale cafe marks the first collaboration between LVMH and acclaimed French chef Cyril Lignac.
“His croque monsieur, with or without truffles, and a Caesar salad embellished with smoked chicken and gluten-free croutons are present and accounted for—as are Lignac’s famous pastries.”
Next time you’re passing through, you can try grub from one of the best airport food spots in the world; grab a lobster roll or a crab avocado salad and remember: any money you spend at an airport doesn’t really count, does it? (does it?)
