Banksy’s latest artwork depicts healthcare superheroes.
Plenty of us have taken to trying their hand at art during the lockdown, but whilst my colouring pencils remain almost unused, the professionals are producing some impressive results. Banksy has been busy these past few weeks, first turning their bathroom into a canvas, and now creating a new artwork in tribute to NHS workers. (Featured image: @sue_campion)
Now hanging proudly in the corridors of Southampton General Hospital, ‘Game Changer’ depicts a little boy enchanted with his new toy: a nurse (complete with face mask and cape) flying around and saving the day. Meanwhile, Batman and Spiderman lay abandoned in a basket, which admittedly isn’t the greatest plotline for the DC/Marvel crossover we’d all like to see.
The artwork is now on display on Level C of Southampton General, so if you’re making a visit to the hospital, do check it out. A spokeswoman for Banksy confirmed that once lockdown measures have been lifted, ‘Game Changer’ will go on public display, before being auctioned off to raise money for NHS charities. Super stuff!
