Forget Spring, my favourite season is awards season. There’s just something about taking in all the glitz and glamour of the season, while tucked up on your sofa, judging all the outfits, crying at all the speeches and sharing memes about all the viral moments. However, the real stars of the show are the brilliant films that are nominated. With the Oscars nominations being announced last week, the Baftas are the last of the big awards to announce their nominees, so many have been eagerly awaiting today’s announcement.
To find out the winners, we’ll have to wait until 22 February when the ceremony takes place at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall. Proceedings will be hosted by Alan Cumming, who will be taking a break from wreaking havoc at the Traitors’ castle, for the US version of everyone’s favourite show. But before we find out who the winners are in a few weeks, let’s see who was snubbed and who came out with the most nominations.
Which film got the most nominations?
Leonardo DiCaprio’s One Battle After Another bagged the most nominations with 14 nominations, including Best Film and Director, with Ryan Coogler’s Sinners receiving 13 nominations and Hamnet not far behind with 11 nominations.
