Archipelago is certain to give your tastebuds a workout.
Well, here’s a few dishes you certainly won’t find on Deliveroo. Archipelago is a rather fancy restaurant which specialises in serving foods you won’t find anywhere else in the world, and some of them are a little…out there. You know you’re in for an experience when the starters include crispy zebra jerky and python carpaccio. And that’s just the beginning of your culinary journey.
At Archipelago, the mains range from the fairly normal (Massaman chicken) to the downright outlandish (marinated kangaroo skewers). Anyone hankering for a true taste of Peru can plump for the jerked alpaca, served with cornmeal slices and buttermilk jelly. For something with a little more snap, why not try the crocodile curry? Be warned though: it’s got a bit of a bite…
Archipelago also has some suitably wacky side dishes to supplement your feasting. The love bug salad is a mix of mealworms and crickets, and it’s almost a meal itself. Gotta get that protein somehow!
Dessert at Archipelago looks pretty tame by comparison. Chocolate and cardamom souffle, frozen berries in chocolate sauce, it all sames rather normal. Oh wait, I’ve just seen the chocolate covered scorpions. Well played, Archipelago, well played.
As you may have noticed, Archipelago is a vegan’s worst nightmare, what with all the exotic meat. For those with a strong stomach, it’s a foodie expedition that will take you all over the world. Remember though: if things at Archipelago ever get too much, you can always go back to the midweek Nandos…
