Albert’s Schloss has waved hallo to the West End as it has swung open the doors of its first London venue in the iconic Trocadero on Shaftesbury Avenue. Londoners are invited to retreat from the modern world and revel in the wünder of the Schloss, an invitation that I personally will be accepting with open arms.
The Bavarian Bier Palace and Cook-Haus (operated by the award-winning Mission Mars) has taken over the Jungle Cave site (previously the Rainforest Café) and transformed it into an Alpine oasis of indulgence and pleasure – sounds pretty interesting, right?
This is Albert Schloss’ first time venturing to the South of England after the raging success of their three current UK venues in Manchester, Birmingham, and Liverpool.
The new spot in the heart of our capital city is their biggest home to date, with 18000 square feet of space filled with 500 covers for dining, four bars for drinking, a stage for some raucous performances, and a bakery for some delicious Bavarian treats. And no, I wasn’t intentionally making that sound like a quirky new version of The Twelve Days of Christmas, but it’s happened now, so good luck getting it out of your head for the rest of the day.
The £8 million investment in the new London venue has created a whopping 200 new jobs across the board and Roy Ellis (CEO of Mission Mars) says: “as in other cities, Schloss will recruit the best artistic talent available”.
Expect roaring fires, Europe’s finest beer, a mouth-watering Alpine-inspired menu (think fondue, bratwurst and schnitzel), and fun, flamboyant live performances, every single night of the week. This all-in-one concept means you can spend the entire night in one place which is, quite frankly, music to my ears (goodbye nights spent trawling round central London in the cold and rain, am I right?).
Created in honour of their muse and namesake, Prince Albert, Albert’s Schloss celebrates the values of Queen Victoria’s husband, ensuring that truth, beauty, freedom, and love are at the heart of everything they do, and what more can you ask for than that, hey?
