If you’ve ever wanted to walk with dinosaurs but were prevented by an inconvenient lack of access to time travel, we’ve found just the thing for you. Age of Dinosaurs is a brand-new immersive VR experience that allows participants to travel back in time and experience prehistoric worlds. And it’s landing in London in just a few days!
To create the experience, Sandbox VR has teamed up with the Natural History Museum. Together, they’re combining Sandbox VR’s full-body VR experiences with “the Museum’s world-leading expertise to bring dinosaurs and primeval reptiles to life through virtual reality.” The experience opens on April 3 at all Sandbox VR locations around the globe.
The Age of Dinosaurs VR experience
The family-friendly experience, which is available for all ages, sees guests suiting up in Sandbox VR’s special VR kits to “embark on a breathtaking expedition to the heart of a prehistoric world”. Guests can wander through natural environments from 1,000s of years ago.
Along the way, thanks to the VR suits’ “full-body tracking and haptic vests”, they’ll even physically experience what it was like to live among dinosaurs. As part of the VR experience, you’ll “feel the tremors of a Brachiosaurus’ footsteps and the rush of wind from pterosaurs”.
As if that wasn’t enough, guests will also come face-to-face with “one of the most realistic 3D dinosaurs ever presented in virtual reality, with every scale, tooth, muscle, and movement of this family-friendly experience grounded in science.”
