Music history comes alive at Abbey Road Studios.
Funnily enough, yesterday – August 8th, 2019 – marked the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ photoshoot on the Abbey Road zebra crossing. Many people chose to mark this by swarming the area and posing for yet more photos, but we think there’s a better way to honour the moment, for the famed Abbey Road Studios are opening up for a series of enlightening talks this summer.
For this weekend (8th-11th) and next (16th-18th), Abbey Road Studios will offer you an unprecedented glimpse inside arguably the world’s most famous recording studios. The Beatles, Kate Bush, Pink Floyd, Oasis, Adele, and Radiohead are just some of the names to have recorded music here, and your trip inside will feature close-up looks at the instruments and recording equipment that’s been used to make some of music’s biggest hits.
Not satisfied with working with some of the biggest musicians on the planet, Abbey Road Studios have also been used as a recording space for film scores, ranging from Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings, to Harry Potter and Black Panther. Talk about trying to have it all! At £125 per ticket, it’s not particularly frugal, but for a fascinating peek inside an incredible part of music history, it’s frankly unbeatable.
