The BBC’s natural history series is making a huge splash in 2026, and its upcoming soundtrack features one of the most iconic collaborations in the music industry. Pop artist Jade Thirlwall has partnered with Hollywood royalty Hans Zimmer and composer Thom Lukas to create an original track, “Into the Deep (Seas Cry)”.
Premiering alongside the show’s extended trailer launch on BBC Radio 1, the track pairs sweeping orchestral work with JADE’s powerful vocals.
A heartfelt call for ocean conservation
Speaking on the release, JADE has described working on the project as a dream milestone and a ‘very special’ experience she immediately wanted to be a part of. Co-written by JADE alongside Zimmer, Lukas, Pablo Bowman, and Fin Dow-Smith, “Into the Deep (Seas Cry)” builds on Zimmer’s signature cinematic sound to create a sense of vulnerability for the world’s oceans.
The soundtrack shines a spotlight on the urgent call for marine conservation: “Seas cry into the deep / Listen to the heart of the ocean beat”.
A special opportunity
While having a hectic schedule writing a second album, for the singer, the collaboration marks a major high point in her solo career. A self-professed fan of the legendary natural history series, JADE called the project ‘a real privilege’. From childhood memories through adulthood inspiration, the artist expresses deep appreciation for the experience of working with Han Zimmer and his team.
Following on from the success of the Planet Earth III (2023), Planet Earth II (2022) and Blue Planet II (2018) arena concerts, Blue Planet III: Live in Concert will feature striking segments from across the series, showcasing our planet’s diverse waters and fascinating ocean creatures. While reminding us of the vital importance of conservation efforts.
