Now, I’m not entirely sure of the exact science behind it, but everybody knows that when you stick something up on a rooftop, it suddenly becomes a whole lot more appealing to us Londoners. And so I guess it’s pretty darn convenient that our city isn’t particularly short on sky-high hotspots to sip, socialise, and soak in some sensational views. Only one of the city’s many elevated establishments, however, has just been uncovered as the best-known rooftop bar in the whole wide world.
A recent analysis scoured the internet to determine which of the world’s rooftop bars are the most globally recognisable. The ranking was based purely on which venues boast the most Google reviews (I mean, it’s as good a method as any, I suppose), and once the numbers were crunched, a handy list of the world’s 10 best-known rooftop bars was revealed.

The Sky Garden
Perched atop the Walkie-Talkie (AKA 20 Fenchurch Street), London’s legendary Sky Garden topped the charts as the world’s best-known rooftop bar. Boasting a whopping 78,000 Google reviews (almost double the second place spot), the Sky Garden is the capital city’s highest public garden and – alongside panoramic views across London’s skyline – it serves up food, drinks, and a jam-packed programme of sky-high happenings.
La Pergola in Marrakesh nabbed the second place position, with 40,000 Google reviews to its name, whilst New York’s 230 Fifth Rooftop Bar landed in third place, boasting 26,000 reviews on Google.
