1. Queen of Hoxton, Shoreditch
Este lendário estabelecimento do leste de Londres é famoso pela sua pista de dança no andar de baixo, mas também é famoso pelo seu terraço, que está atualmente decorado com toda a sua glória temática de máscaras. A magia não se fica por aqui… também têm rum amanteigado quente com Hennessy ou Sirens Call e vinho quente de Venetian bramble – uma mistura sedosa e suave de vinho quente misturado com vodka Absolut ou gin rosa Beefeater. 2. Skylight Tobacco Dock, Wapping
O Skylight London é conhecido pelos seus lendários iglus à beira do canal e está de volta com um estrondo nesta temporada de inverno. Se procura uma forma nova e excitante de beber e jantar com vinho quente (está a ver o que fizemos?), estas cúpulas espaciais podem muito bem ser a resposta. 3. The Hawk’s Nest, Shepherd’s Bush
Este antigo arco ferroviário, situado no interior do Shepherd’s Bush Market, foi recentemente convertido num jardim florestal aquecido e invernal – que melhor cenário para um copo de vinho quente ou cidra, dizemos nós. O seu vinho quente vem com laranja, canela, cravinho, anis estrelado e açúcar demerara, e eles também fazem um gin de abrunho quente – perfeito para aquecer as amêijoas numa noite fria de inverno.
Se estiver a sentir fome enquanto estiver aqui, eles também fazem alguma da melhor comida italiana de Londres – pense em pizzas gourmet, antipasti, calamares e todo o gelato que conseguir consumir. Vencedor, vencedor, jantar de frango.

4. No Horto, Borough
Um oásis escondido no coração do SE1, o mais recente restaurante da TVG hospitality, (a equipa por detrás do Tap & Bottle, Lafayette, Goods Way e Audrey’s), tem o seu Natal todo embrulhado este ano. Para além de um banquete festivo de três pratos, cozinhado em forno de lenha, estão também a preparar um belo vinho quente para o colocar no espírito festivo. Também têm uma deliciosa seleção de pop-ups de inverno no vizinho Southwark Quarter.

5. The Spaniard’s Inn, Hampstead
Este bar do século XVI, com painéis de madeira, tem vista para as colinas verdejantes da bela Hampstead Heath, e é conhecido por ser o local onde Byron, Keats e até Charles Dickens costumavam encontrar-se. Também ganhou notoriedade por ser o suposto local de nascimento e o local preferido do salteador Dick Turpin e, segundo os rumores, é suposto ser assombrado por mais do que alguns fantasmas, ghouls e espectros. Será que pode ficar mais parecido com um Conto de Natal? Também fazem um bom vinho quente e uma grande variedade de comida festiva – por isso, sente-se junto à lareira e acomode-se para passar a tarde.

6. Taberna Trafalgar, Greenwich
Construído no local do Old George Inn em 1837 – o ano em que a Rainha Vitória subiu ao trono – este belo local em Greenwich está repleto de história e oferece algumas das melhores vistas do Tamisa em qualquer lugar de Londres.
Foi usado por políticos em tempos passados como local para os seus famosos “jantares de whitebait” e foi também o cenário para o pequeno-almoço de casamento no romance Our Mutual Friend de Charles Dickens (sim, ele outra vez). Para além de toda a história naval e das vistas panorâmicas, também fazem um excelente vinho quente, um hot toddy e um “Grog” – a bebida favorita da Marinha Real. Saúde!

7. Taverna do Sr. Fogg, Covent Garden
Situado no coração de “Theatreland”, na esquina de St Martin’s Lane e New Row, este local excêntrico é inspirado na história de Phileas Fogg – o protagonista do romance de Júlio Verne ” A Volta ao Mundo em Oitenta Dias“. Com os seus painéis de madeira, decoração tradicional e uma infinidade de artefactos e antiguidades a pontilhar as paredes, este local emana um ambiente vitoriano e não pode deixar de o transportar para a década de 1870.
Na altura do Natal, está decorado com todo o tipo de decorações e luzes cintilantes, e o aroma combinado de vinho quente e pinho atinge-nos assim que atravessamos as portas duplas do pub. Por falar em vinho quente, o que é servido aqui usa uma combinação de cravinho clássico e casca de cássia – há também um bar de gin no andar de baixo, se quiser experimentar alguns cocktails inspirados em “Mother’s Ruin”.
