The 13th May is International Hummus Day and we’ve got to say, we’ve never heard of a more amazing day of celebration! There’s something about that beautiful concoction of chickpeas that makes us all kinds of happy but who knew there were so many variations? Here’s a little lowdown on some of the best places in London to sample the goods.

This Beirut street food restaurant is all about hearty flavours so, although their pastries and charcoal grilled skewers are all wonderful options, it’s their hummus that really sings. Opt for their Hummus Shawarma to sample the revolutionary combo of marinated sliced lamb on top of creamy chickpea puree.

Serving up some of the prettiest plates of Middle Eastern food you ever did see, Honey & Co pride themselves on their traditional methods and tasty results! Hummus topped with marinated chicken or mini fillets of lamb, anyone? They also offer variations on the classic hummus dish, with additions such as cumin or blended with garlic and parsley. Yum.
