Over 1,000 cyclists are soon set to strip off and bare all as the bike around London – because the flashiest form of exercise returns to the capital next weekend in the form of the World Naked Bike Ride. Yes, it really is a thing.
This rather audacious annual event has been whizzing into the city every summer for the past 21 years in a bid to make the world a better place. That’s right, folks – these in-the-buff bikers aren’t just cycling naked for the sake of it (although I’m sure it’s an absolute hoot). They’re shedding their clothes for a cause. Well, a few causes, actually.
The World Naked Bike Ride takes place each year to protest against the global dependency on oil, curb car culture, fight for cyclists’ rights, and to celebrate body freedom. Of course, some of these causes get a tad more pressing each year, as the global climate crisis continues to worsen.

Sometimes the arrangements need to change last minute, so if you do plan on partaking in this year’s World Naked Bike Ride, we’d recommend you keeping your eyes on the website or social media pages for any updates. Otherwise things could get a little bit awkward…
