An Enchanted Alpine Forest Has Popped Up Alongside The Thames

Winterland returns with some very special winter warmers.

Fulham’s riverside pop-up, Winterland, has never been one to sleep on the pop-ups front. After bringing the beach to London this summer, they’ve unveiled their grand Christmas 2020 pop-up, open to the public now. Taking the theme of an enchanted Alpine forest, this Christmas cracker is bursting with forest igloos and cabins, Alpine brunches, and brilliant festive cocktails.

As in previous years, Winterland have masterfully swept aside minor problems such as Fulham’s complete and utter lack of mountains to deliver an aprés-ski experience worthy of the Alps. Like any self-respecting ski resort, that includes cosy, food-filled hideaways, as Winterland will have winter igloos and Alpine cabins available for booking. Once you’re happily ensconced within your cosy hideaway, you’ll be able to tuck into a mouthwatering food menu, with healthy salad starters chased by bubbling cheese fondue with dippable snacks, or BBQ spare ribs and Aspen truffle fries. You can book your igloo or cabin here, and your ticket also nets you a bracing shot of Schnapps on arrival to ward off the winter chill.

Elsewhere at Winterland, you’ll happen upon a Bavarian beer tent overflowing with steins of German beer, ski-lift bubbles for cute date nights, and an outdoor fire pit where you can toast marshmallows to your heart’s content. Fun diversions include shuffleboard and table tennis, and you and your household can cram into the photobooth for souvenir snaps.

Just as excitingly, you can dip into Winterland’s Alpine bottomless brunch at weekends, where guests can dip into a range of pizza from street food spot Flour and Kneed, and pair it with two hours of bottomless prosecco. Hewing closer to the Alpine theme is the flameless fondue pot, with is served with charcuterie, or BBQ spare rib and rosemary fries – both of which are available with one or two hours of prosecco, beer, bloody Marys, mimosas, bellinis, or espresso martinis(!). Grab your tickets to the brunch here.

A pair of bars will top you up with any extra drinks; head to The Moose Bar for specialty gins, or pop along to the Alpine Lodge for a whole range of brilliant cocktails. Handily, you can pick up cocktails including the Captain Morgan-led ‘Blue Frost’ or marshmallow topped ‘Baileys Boot’ on this nifty cocktail deal, which is sure to have you feeling merry in no time.

Festive igloos, winter warmers, and plenty of Christmas cheer – Winterland has more than enough to nourish the soul this year!
