Come Christmastime in London, our city becomes absolutely chock-a-block full of festive cheer. Lights twinkle merrily from up on high, Christmassy wonderlands invite us in to transport ourselves away from the city, and mulled wine keeps accidentally finding its way into our cups. And one of London’s most delightfully festive places – combining all of the above and more – is returning to its annual riverside perch next month. That’s right, Winter by the River is back for 2025!
Running from November 13, 2025, to January 4, 2026, it’s a must-visit wintry destination in London. You’ll find it winding its way along the Thames, on the expansive riverside area situated between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. And an incredible array of delights awaits you.
Visiting Winer by the River
Follow the frosted path and you’ll find rows of boutique market stalls. These sell everything from handcrafted gifts to festive street food and winter warmers. They’re perfect for those looking to make a head start on the Christmas shopping, or those who need some delicious sustenance to warm them during these cold, dark nights.

Wander further along, amongst the twinkling lights, and you’ll also find the après ski themed Glasshouse Terrace. Perfect for hiding from the elements, this two-storey festive bar boasts cosy corners, a heated rooftop, and a menu of seasonal favourites. The wintry bar will host events throughout the season, which will range from paint and sip sessions to live music.
And if you fancy a bit of competition when you visit, head on over to the Swift Stone Curling pop-up. The festive activity returns this year, bigger and better than before, with six lanes, a central bar, and even a special Aperol bar for winter spritzes.
So, what do you say? We reckon it’s time to crack on with the Christmas shopping, admire the views, and get steadily sloshed on steaming mugs of glühwein and spiced cider… Really, that’s all we’ve ever wanted out of a Christmas market!
