At the heart of it all is Wigmore Hall’s 125th. As one of the world’s go‑to chamber music venues, this Grade II‑listed neo‑Renaissance hall is hosting an epic live music festival to celebrate its huge milestone from 25 May to 7 June 2026. Expect top‑tier classical music concerts featuring performances by soprano Lise Davidsen, pianist Igor Levit and many more.
Wigmore Hall in Marylebone: what makes this place one of the best live music venues in London?
Wigmore Hall first opened on 31 May 1901 with an inaugural concert featuring Ferruccio Busoni and Eugène Ysaÿe. The neo-Renaissance building features a gorgeous terracotta exterior with an intimate, shoebox-like auditorium nestled within. Grand marble designs and a barrel-vaulted ceiling wrap around the stage, making for a gorgeous setting for intimate classical performances as well as BBC Radio 3 broadcasts.
