Wide Awake has consistently been one of London’s most popular day festivals, never failing to deliver a varied lineup to the masses of attendees at Brockwell Park during the late May bank holiday weekend.
This year, however, it’s been confirmed that the festival won’t be taking place, with organisers saying that the event would be ‘taking a break’ in 2026. This was first reported by MyLondon, with a spokesperson for the festival saying that “Wide Awake is just taking a break for 2026”, so it’s likely that we’ll see the event returning before long.

It’s been running in London since 2021, and has always been heralded as a space for both emerging new talent, the names on the lips of many, and legends. Previous editions have seen big slots for the likes of Kneecap, CMAT, Primal Scream, Self-Esteem, Bicep, English Teacher, Amyl and the Sniffers, Slowdive, King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard, Caroline Polachek, Black Country New Road, IDLES, and many more.
Mighty Hoopla, Cross The Tracks, City Splash, and Field Day, all of which also take place at Brockwell Park, are still due to take place this year.
It comes amid a turbulent time for events in Brockwell Park, with the Lambeth Country Show being forced to cancel this year. This comes after the Protect Brockwell Park group were involved in a legal dispute with Lambeth Council over the volume of events taking place at the space.
This was due to the verdict that events exceeded the 28-day annual limit or change-of-use-rules, which meant organisers were forced to cancel the show. Lambeth Council were initially set to appeal the decision, but then opted against it due to the cost to taxpayers and not being able to subsidise the free show this year.
