Westfield London has really upped its game with the entertainment offerings since its expansion…
…but now a trip to the Shepherd’s Bush shopping centre doesn’t have to be all about the shopping.
Two particularly exciting new openings have joined the Westfield London lineup, namely a swanky new bowling alley from the kings of pins All Star Lanes, and Puttshack, a spectacularly hi-tech mini golf venue.
First up, Puttshack.
Puttshack comes to Westfield London with the world’s first hi-tech mini golfing concept; using ground-breaking technology to transform the game into something even crazier than the craziest crazy golf course. Yeah, that’s right – there’s even automatic point scoring and leaderboards, so there’ll be no more of that amateur pencil and paper business (and certainly nobody sneakily changing 7s into 2s)!
Puttshack uses space-age technology called Trackaball™, so it knows exactly who the ball belongs to, how many times it’s been hit, how far it has travelled, and so on. Your scores will then immediately appear on the leaderboard, so you can see how your skills compare to your mates’, your work colleagues’, and random strangers who played last week.
The bar boasts an extensive list of classic and signature cocktails, from the Date Night with popcorn-infused rum to the Gold Digger, featuring actual gold. There’s also an amazing restaurant on site, serving up pizzas, burgers and loads more!
Last but not least, All Star Lanes.
All Star Lanes are already known for their, um, all star lanes across the city, with venues in Brick Lane, Holborn and Stratford. But they’ve popped up again with their first new alley in five years, and they’ve continued to make the whole bowling thing seem glamorous and luxurious (certainly a far cry from the bowling alleys we all used to visit as a kid).
With a 1950s Miami theme throughout, All Star Lanes’ new venue screams opulence. Swap Slush Puppies – don’t tell me you don’t remember the Slush Puppies – for hand-crafted cocktails, sing your heart out in one of the palm print-covered karaoke booths, bowl a few balls down the shiny new lanes, or relax outside on their heated (yes, heated!) terrace.
Once you’ve bowled, sang or got yourself suitably tipsy on the terrace, retire to the lush, Miami-inspired restaurant for some classic, yet sophisticated, American grub. Try the soft shell crab burger or the buttermilk chicken, or indulge in some drool-worthy halloumi fries. One thing’s for sure, All Star Lanes is definitely not your average alley!
Each of these venues are now open at Westfield London in Shepherd’s Bush (Ariel Way, W12 7GF). Nearest stations: White City, Wood Lane and Shepherd’s Bush (Underground and Overground). You can read more about what’s new at Westfield London here. (Spoiler: it includes a giant new Primark.)
