Drinks at Leicester Square, anyone?
To say it’s been a lively week in Britain might be the understatement to end all understatements. After five months sat longingly wishing for a sip of their pint-of-choice, outdoor dining and drinking finally returned to Brits on Monday, giving us all something to smile about. And now it’s just about time for the first weekend since the rise of the alfresco. Let me see *checks watch* 11.12am isn’t too early to head down, is it?
Thankfully for all those looking for somewhere new to book, a brand new rooftop bar in the sparkling West End has open up. The Rooftop is an all-new alfresco bar that opened its doors to the public yesterday (April 15).
Attendees will be treated to a five-storey view over Leicester Square, just above the famous hippodrome. Those who manage to get a place here will also be at one of the few late-night al fresco spots in Central London, with drinks flowing until 2am, seven days a week.

Spread across three floors, The Rooftop is the ideal spot to reunite with the city centre that you’ve longed to be dancing around. It’s even taken the shaky April weather into account, with both retractable roofs and heaters included across the premises. You can rest assured that your cocktails won’t be watered down by a spell of showers.
At The Rooftop, you’ll be treated to signature cocktails – think Double Trouble(Ketel One vodka, crème de cassis, orgeat syrup, blackberries, lime and mango) or Lychee Tang (Bombay gin, peach liqueur, lychee, peach purée and lemon). Champagne will also be ready available to toast to your reunion with outdoor socialising. Plus, if you’re feeling a little less extravagant, you can enjoy a great selection of draught and bottled beers, ciders, spirits and mixers, wine and more.
There’s also food service all day and night, which includes USDA beef burgers and roast salmon fillet, as well as smaller plates such as USDA meatballs and prawn tempura with sweet chilli sauce.
Over 150 covers are available at the rooftop, and you can book your place on the top terrace with views over Soho here. Happy first-weekend-back-at-the-pub, everybody!
Location: Cranbourn Street, Leicester Square, West End, WC2H 7JH. Nearest station is Leicester Square. See it on Google Maps.
