Music festival season is about to kick off in London, but for any music lovers who fancy combining a weekend of sweet beats with a little European getaway, we might have just the thing for you. Let’s set the scene; you’re wandering through the sun-drenched streets of Porto, munching on a pastel de nata whilst eyeballing views of the Douro River. Awaiting you at the end of your walk is a festival of African music, dance, art, and fashion, with three days of vibrant Afro Urban beats and some of the biggest artists on the scene on the bill. This is what you’ll get at Trace Made in Africa festival, and you can find your tickets right here.
Trace Made in Africa is a brand-new festival for 2022, taking place from June 24-26. Big names from the worlds of afrobeat, dancehall, hip-hop, and reggae will be providing the tunes, with artists like Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Fally Ipupa, Sauti Sol, Bussiwa, Adekunle Gold, and Admiral T set to perform. Acts will be taking to the stage throughout the three-day festival, so you’re guaranteed to be up and dancing throughout the whole weekend.
The festival takes place at Porto’s Alfândega Congress Center, located in the heart of the city a stone’s throw away from the river. Whilst the place is going to be jumping to the beat, Trace Made in Africa is much more than a music festival; you’ll be able to have your pick of parties, lifestyle activities, art experiences, and brunches in between sets. Oh, and since the festival comes to life between 5pm and 1am, it conveniently gives you plenty of time to explore the fabulous city of Porto during the day, with all the sightseeing, feasting, and drinking that entails.
Our friends at Fever have got the tickets lined up for you, and you can get access to the full three-day festival for as little as £78, or pick and choose the days you’d most like to be there in order to maximise your sightseeing time. Sunshine, chart-topping beats, and a wealth of cultural experiences: Trace Made in Africa will be unlike any other festival on the summer schedule this year!
