Here at Secret London, we sure do love having a good old rummage through our treasure trove of a capital city, scoping out the very best spots, and then telling you all about them. But look, sometimes it’s pretty darn delightful when somebody else does the hard work for us – and the lovely lot over at the Top 50 Cocktail Bars have done exactly that. Their trusty team of cocktail connoisseurs have recently bar-crawled their way across the country in search of – you guessed it, folks – the 50 best cocktail bars. And they’ve recently released a handy list of the spots that they think are the best of the bunch.
The top 50 cocktail bars
The list was carefully compiled by the voting academy; a hand-picked selection of 200 industry experts, ranging from bartenders and suppliers to writers and influencers. The academy is dotted across the country to ensure that all bases are covered and to avoid geographical bias. And look, I really don’t mean to brag but out of the 50 cocktail bars that earnt themselves a coveted spot on the list; 25 of them are here in London. Not bad, hey?

Satan’s Whiskers over in Bethnal Green bagged itself the highest spot of all the London bars, claiming the third position on the list. Satan’s Whiskers was actually crowned the best bar in Britain last year, praised for its daily-changing menu and exceptional cocktails. Waltz in Shoreditch nabbed the fifth place on this year’s list, and Amaro Bar over in Kensington was sat comfortably at spot number 7.
