If you can’t take the Londoner to the seaside, bring the seaside to the Londoner. From 23rd July until 4th September, Beach East is re-opening for summer at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. As the UK’s largest urban beach, you can expect plenty of fun activities (for kids and adults alike). There will be soft white sand, three paddling pools, funfair rides, sporting events and two ‘beach’ bars – all with a view of London’s skyline (and the ArcelorMittal Orbit slide). All we have to do now is pray that the good weather continues. (Lolllll).

What’s more over the Olympics, Beach East will become an official FanZone for the Rio games, so you can soak up a bit of tropical, sporting atmosphere, straight from our capital! The beach is open every day from 10am until 10pm. Check out their full line up of events here.

You may be surprised to know that Beach East isn’t London’s only urban seaside area… check out these other sandy spots in the city.
