Forget just dreaming of a white Christmas – you can make it a real life certainty this year with a visit to Aurora at The View from The Shard. This magical Nordic wonderland is presented by Virgin Experience Days and is guaranteed to give you the greatest views in London, a hefty dose of Scandi cosiness, and yep, regular snowfall out on the sky deck. Seriously, if you wanted to make your festive snaps even more wintry, this is the place to be. Book your spot here!
This Scandinavian oasis in the heart of the city is open from Thursday, November 25 until March 2022. So, you can laugh in the face of a grey and dreary springtime, and stay snuggled up amidst the soft furs and alpine furniture.
Surrounded by the sights, scents and sounds of a Nordic winter, you’ll be able to escape the Big Smoke and travel into a snowy scene straight out of a Christmas card!
This festive haven takes its name, Aurora, and its inspiration from the Northern Lights a.k.a the Aurora Borealis. And it’s designed to immerse you in Nordic magic from the moment you arrive on the ground floor, all the way to the open-air terrace at the very top of The Shard.
There, out on both viewing platforms you’ll find Ski Lodge Bars ready to serve up delicious Aurora-themed cocktails, or Moët & Chandon both day and night. And with regular snowfall every 15 minutes on the open air Skydeck, this really is a stunning location for an extra special festive night (or day) out.
Haven’t managed to get a photo for the grid amidst the flurries of snow? Why not have a wander around the breathtaking floral displays, or pose for a pic by the beautiful Grand Piano?
And, don’t forget that from November 25, for the festive period, the venue will also be adorned by an absolutely enormous, Nordic themed enormous Christmas Tree! This spectacular tree will take pride of place, and is pretty much guaranteed to provide the perfect backdrop for your festive snaps. You’re welcome.
It’s advisable to book in advance if you’d like to take a trip to Aurora at The View from The Shard, as this winter wonderland is pretty popular. Tickets start from £25 and include complimentary drinks!
