The Top Hat is London’s ultimate Monopoly-themed dining experience.
You may have heard of Monopoly Lifesized, the immersive, 4D Monopoly game experience that’s just launched in the West End. It’s a real-life, full-sized version of our favourite board game, giving players the chance to build the property empire of their dreams. Coinciding with the launch of the experience, a restaurant and cocktail bar dedicated to the London version of Monopoly has opened next door, promising a playful dining and drinking experience. The Top Hat serves ‘quintessentially British’ cuisine and an array of creative cocktails that’ll excite fans of Monopoly and our wonderful city.
Guests can enjoy a game-themed menu of small plates with dishes inspired by our city’s historic narratives. Try the London honey glazed cocktail sausages with honey-mustard, the Camden Ale beer-battered onion rings with homemade brown sauce, and miniature fish and chips with tartare sauce.
The cocktails surely won’t disappoint either — Each drink represents an iconic London property or place, and guests can order a deck of ‘MONOPOLY Deal’ for a quick round of cards while they enjoy their cocktails. The creative concoctions include the ‘Leicester Square – Red Carpet Daiquiri’, which is inspired by the area’s reputation for film premiers, and the ‘Trafalgar Square’s Lychee & Rose Pearl Martini’, inspired by the original London Pearly King road sweep whose memorial statue can be found beneath Trafalgar Square. There’s even a Euston Road cocktail paying homage to the NHS, which includes a £2 donation to a chosen charity.
At The Top Hat, good food and drinks meet plenty of quirky fun, offering a well-rounded experience to those visiting the immersive game or just looking for an extraordinary dining set-up.
Joseph R Smith, Director of F&B, The Top Hat, said: “So many of us have fond memories of playing the iconic game, be it with grandparents in our childhood or over drinks with friends in our adult lives. The Top Hat’s convivial dining concept was conceived to encourage people to come together again, for what we hope will be a delicious nostalgic trip down memory lane.”
