As the home of the UK Tarot Conference, London is into its mysticism. Now you can step beyond the veil and into The Tarot Lounge London, where the art of cartomancy unfolds in an atmosphere of flickering candlelight, velvet curtains, and evocative decor. This immersive experience invites querents to explore the arcana through carefully crafted spreads that reveal insights into the past, present, and untold possibilities of the future.
On select dates in London, you’ll have the chance to uncover aspects of yourself you never imagined. Whether you’re a believer in the power of tarot or simply curious, step into the underground Hokus Pokus – Alchemy Lab in King’s Cross where you can sip on cocktails inspired by the arcana.
What is “The Tarot Lounge”?
It’s a 120-minute immersive journey into the world of tarot, where four skilled readers will unveil the history of the 78-card deck and offer both group and personal readings. Set in a moody, candlelit space that blends mysticism with mixology, the experience is enhanced by three exclusive tarot-inspired cocktails crafted by expert bartenders, available for purchase.
Tarot and Tarot cards
Tarot has transformed from a noble card game in Renaissance Italy into a powerful tool for self-discovery and mysticism. The earliest decks, like the hand-painted Visconti-Sforza, were once symbols of aristocratic leisure, but by the 18th century, figures such as Etteilla and Lenormand reimagined tarot as a gateway to hidden knowledge.
A full deck consists of 78 cards—22 Major Arcana, embodying life’s fundamental lessons through figures like The Fool, Death, and The Lovers, and 56 Minor Arcana, split into four suits: Wands (creativity and fire), Cups (emotion and water), Swords (challenges and air), and Pentacles (material life and earth). Believer or not: ask your question, choose your cards, and look inwards to decipher the meaning of the cards you have been dealt.
