Pink sky at night will be London’s delight this evening as the tallest building in the city’s skyline will be illuminated pink to mark the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Tonight (October 1), the spire of The Shard will glow a glorious shade of pink to raise awareness around breast cancer and promote the importance of its early detection.
For one night only, the lovably lanky London building will boast a rather rosy display that will be visible from up to 40 miles away. In a bid to remind the public of the purpose behind the mission of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (which starts today), The Shard will glow pink from when the sun goes down this evening.
The global initiative spreads awareness in regards to the early detection and knowing the signs of breast cancer. It also educates people on the topic and supports the life-saving research that is being carried out each and every day.
It’s not just the building’s exterior that’ll be getting the pink treatment, as a whole load of pink goings on will be – well… going on inside The Shard this month. From a pink-themed afternoon tea and a playful pink brunch to limited edition cocktails and a pink chocolate fountain.
