After the drama-filled triumph earlier this week, England have booked their place in another final of a major tournament. They did it the hard way, but a 95th-minute equaliser from 19-year-old Arsenal starlet Michelle Agyemang took the Lionesses through to extra-time against Italy before her Arsenal teammate Chloe Kelly‘s 119th-minute rebounded penalty sealed England’s spot in the last game.
The Lionesses will face Spain, who had drama of their own in the semi-final, in a repeat fixture of their matchup in the World Cup final in 2023, when it was the Lionesses who left disappointed. Spain beat Germany in extra time on Wednesday (July 23), with a goal from Aitana Bonmatí all that separated the teams.
The Shard will light up in the colour of St George’s cross the evening before the match and shine across London after the sun goes down. You’ll no doubt have already planned where you’re watching the game on Sunday (July 27) at 5pm, but if you’re out and about on Saturday night, be sure to look towards the building as your nerves start to grow.
