The Pogues have just announced a set of dates across Europe to close the year, and they’ll be playing all their greatest hits at a huge London show at Brixton Academy on Saturday, December 2026.
This comes after the band’s 40th anniversary tour of their seminal 1985 record, Rum Sodomy & The Lash, which also saw them play at Brixton in May 2025. The shows will follow the same set-up as recent gigs, with original members James Fearnley, Jem Finer and Spider Stacy joined by special guests along the tour.
Speaking in the announcement, The Pogues wrote on social media: “POGUES PLAY THE HITS.
“After last years barnstorming UK 40th anniversary tour of RS&TL we’re coming back for more. Same set up, guest singers, the huge electrifying band and founding members Jem Finer, James Fearnley and Spider Stacy deep in the midst of the mayhem.
“This time there’ll be shows in Germany, the Netherlands, UK and Ireland too, and we’ll be diving into the Pogues songbook and playing the hits and the favourites.”
News of the shows comes after the passing of founding member Andrew ‘The Clobberer’ Ranken in February, who played with the band from 1983 up until their break-up in 2014.
In late 2023, The Pogues’ longtime legendary frontman, Shane MacGowan, also passed away at the age of 65. The band went on their first headline tour in more than 10 years, with guest singers joining them along the way to fill in for the late singer.
