The Killers will be let out onto the field and surely be feeling just fine as they perform just ahead of the Champions League final.
Brandon Flowers and co. will be headlining the kick-off show ahead of the match in Budapest at the Puskás Arena on Saturday, May 30. They’ll play a run of their hits to warm up the occasion before the two teams clash.
It’s not the first time an act has performed ahead of the Champions League duty, with Linkin Park taking to the stage before Paris Saint-Germain vs Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena in Munich last year.
Who is playing in the Champions League final 2026?
The competition is still ongoing, so we don’t know quite yet who will be facing each other in the game on May 30. At the start of April, the quarter-final stage will begin with the prospect of four ties to look forward to. These are:
- Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich (April 7) / Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid (April 15)
- Sporting Lisbon vs Arsenal (April 7) / Arsenal vs Sporting Lisbon (April 15)
- Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid (April 8) / Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona (April 14)
- Paris Saint-Germain vs Liverpool (April 8) / Liverpool vs Paris Saint-Germain (April 14)
Two-legged semi-finals will then be played on April 28-29 and May 5-6.
And, if one of the English teams were to make it to the final, The Killers’ performance could be something of a good omen. Back in 2024, the band paused their London show mid-set at the O2 Arena to watch England’s semi-final at the Euros against the Netherlands.
They went straight into the larger-than-life Mr Brightside when the whistle went, so you never know! A performance of the track ahead of the Champions League final could be the intangible difference that is often needed when the pressure’s on in a game with stakes this high.
The Champions League final, with The Killers headlining the kick-off show, takes place on Saturday, May 30.
