More than 200 years after Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein, Frankenstein on Trial is putting its creator in the dock at The Jury Experience in London — and turning the gothic horror story into a chilling dystopian thriller. This immersive courtroom drama flips Shelley’s classic on its head, asking audiences to decide whether Victor Frankenstein should face Neurological Dissolution Therapy (NDT): a punishment far more terrifying than incarceration that would systematically erase his intellect, memories, and identity.
The idea feels eerily fitting for a story born from London’s obsession with galvanism and reanimation. In 1803, crowds packed into the Royal College of Surgeons to watch Italian scientist Giovanni Aldini electrify the corpse of executed murderer George Forster — experiments so disturbing they helped inspire the scientific anxieties behind Frankenstein itself. Two centuries later, the jury is finally in. Are you?

What to expect at Frankenstein on Trial in London

This edition of The Jury Experience brings a brand new script to London that is part courtroom drama, part psychological thriller, placing audiences inside a futuristic legal hearing where Victor Frankenstein himself stands accused of crimes too horrifying to ignore. Fresh evidence and hidden paper trails are introduced that suggest Victor may have been far more complicit in the chaos than previous versions imply, and whether the real danger lies not with the Creature, but with the mind that created him.
To convict Victor would mean sentencing him to Neurological Dissolution Therapy (NDT) and the systematic destruction of his memories, intellect, and identity itself. Suddenly, your decision as juror carries an unsettling weight. Is Victor Frankenstein criminally responsible for what followed his experiments? And if he is, does any government have the right to destroy a human consciousness in the name of public safety?
